Pre-season is well and truly underway at Braintree Rugby Club, and despite the hot weather, there’s been no shortage of effort on the training pitch.

The squad have been working hard on their fitness, building those all-important foundations ready for the season ahead. There have been plenty of tough sessions and tired legs, but the hard work now will hopefully pay dividends when competitive rugby gets underway.
Of course, pre-season isn’t just about fitness. Training has also been about getting rugby balls back in hands, sharpening up skills and rebuilding those combinations across the squad. From handling and decision-making to set pieces and team play, preparations are stepping up as we get closer to the first fixtures of the season.

One of the best parts of pre-season has been seeing the numbers at training. We’ve welcomed some new faces to Braintree, alongside plenty of familiar ones – including a few old faces returning to the fold.

It’s fantastic to see players coming together, putting in the hard yards and enjoying being back out on the pitch as one squad.
There’s still plenty of work to be done before the season gets underway, but preparations are moving in the right direction. Join us Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm!
The work is going in. The squad is coming together. Bring on the new season!
