Well today definitely introduced us to the meaning of a cold winters morning of rugby. It most certainly was a test to see which parents (and coaches!) could handle it! (my toes were blocks of ice!)
We went to play Chelmsford in another away game who are renowned for being a good club from senior level right through to the minis. A game not to take as a guaranteed win.
Through sickness we lost a few good players who we all wish a huge get well to and we really did miss them but the 15 that went into play were up for a challenge and not at all prepared to go in as the under dogs.
The Braintree Cats split into 3 teams; the Tigers, the Pumas and the Jaguars.
Coaches David & Tony K took the Tigers; Big G, Jack, Lewis, Pip and H.
Coach Tony H took the Pumas; Joseph, Harry W, Alex, Archie and Luca.
Coach Lee took the Jaguars; Max, Little G, Tom, Harry C and Aidan.
Each team played 4 games and put in 100% and played their hearts out.
We saw Aidan and Lewis score their first tries.
The tags were bang, bang, bang, coming one after the other.
Every boy played and contributed to their team and encouraged, supported and lead each other. They certainly didn't feel the cold as they got better and better and grew as the morning went on.
As predicted it wasn't going to be a walkover playing away to Chelmsford, they were a great club with a great deal of potential that certainly gave our boys a good friendly but competitive game.
Between the 3 Cats teams we won overall 83 - 108!!!
Tigers lost 1, won 3.
Pumas lost 1, drew 1. won 2.
Jaguars lost 1, drew 2, won 1.
We had a joint 3rd and 2nd place amongst the top try scorers this week....................
3rd place goes to Harry H and Harry W with 12 each.
2nd place goes to Jack and Joseph with 13 each.
But in 1st place with an amazing 21 tries, this weeks top try scorer goes to.....................................MAX!!!!!

Well done boys, keep up the good work.
