An outstanding display from both Under 10's teams saw them bring home the winners trophies in both the A and B Festivals on home ground.

The 'A' Festival was well subscribed, so the teams were split into 2 groups, with Braintree, Saffron Walden, Harlow and Barking making up Pool B, and Brightlingsea, Ongar, Maldon and Old Albanians playing as Pool A.

The 'B' team festival saw further teams from Old Albanians, Maldon and Braintree compete against eachother in league style.

Not a single try was conceded by the Braintree A team throughout the tournament, as they swept through to the final to play against Old Albanians. The pressure was maintained throughout all 5 matches:

Match 1: Braintree A vs Barking 9-0
Match 2: Braintree A vs Saffron Walden 8-0
Match 3: Braintree A vs Harlow 8-0
Semi-Final: Braintree A vs Ongar 3-0
Cup Final: Braintree A vs Old Albanians A 5-0

A special mention goes out to Mack Darroch for scoring more than a hat-trick (with a little help from a selfless pass from his team mate Oscar Letch) in the game against Barking and a hat-trick in the final. Other hat-tricks were scored by Oscar Letch in a very aggressive game against Harlow, Nathan Bossert who scored the only 3 tries in our semi-final against Ongar and a fantastic runaway try from Sam Smith against Harlow as well. The whole squad was fully engaged in the game and there is no doubt that every team member was there to accomplish one thing...WIN!

The very same can be said of the B squad, who won all 4 matches with grit and determination. Their rivals were fierce and Braintree's play was impeccable. They used the width of the pitch passing along the line with confidence and tackled with resolve. A huge well done to Sam Waud for scoring a hat-trick in the final against Old Albanians.

Needless to say, none of the wins would have been possible without the whole squad working together to create innumerable opportunities and seeking holes in the oppositions defence. Great tackling and consistent communications throughout, creating superb chances, which they capitalised on:

Match 4: Braintree vs Old Alabanians 4-1
