Optimistically confident after a great 'away' performance last week. The game started and most of the 1st half seemed to be two evenly matched teams doing their best on a heavy pitch to play running rugby. B'tree having won a good amount of ball from a strong scrum and good rucking struggled to break through a well organised Basildon defence, eventually the ball was spun out wide to the B'tree player Lewis Morgan who touched down in the corner. Basildon though scored 2 tries of their own fairly quickly, moving the ball to their winger who outpaced the B'tree defence on both occasions. B'tree started the 2nd half needing to move up a gear, but it was Basildon who did this, seeming to move the ball with ease, regularly asking questions of the B'tree defence. Once Basildon got a further try B'tree's heads seemed to drop. Whatever B'tree did to try and score Basildon had the answer to stop it. Further tries were scored from Basildon throughout the half to end the match winning 8-1. Lots of positives taken from the game for B'tree, but equally areas to improve on for the visit of Hadleigh next week.
