Captains report
Today was a very high scoring win despite missing several players and having players out of position. We had some great team tries to get a 24-0 lead at halftime. Our main focus at halftime was to beat that score and get more points in the 2nd half. We managed to do that by ending the game 64-0. A great team performance.

Match report
On a frosty sunny Sunday morning Braintree travelled to play Woodford, with both teams missing some players it was going to be a good measure of which team has the strength in depth.
Right from the start Braintree made it clear they were keen to play after not playing the week before.
Putting Woodford under pressure and turning over ball Braintree were unsuccessful in two attempts to cross the line within five minutes, but a try soon followed.
Braintree continued to play some flowing rugby and ran in another three tries, but cold hands on some occasions or a lose pass stopped it being more, making the half time score 24-0

After a half time chat, it was agreed that we would look to play more width on our game and try to improve on our first half score.
The boys did not disappoint and played some great running rugby with good inter play between backs and forwards, along with some set moves.
By the final whistle another six tries were scored, but to be fair to Woodford they never gave up trying till the end.
All the boys should be pleased with their performance, well done to Ewan for his first start in the forwards playing wing forward and prop, the forwards for providing the backs with plenty of ball,Fin Gorman for his work rate, Luis for his strong running, along with Rafe and Archie.
The only area that could be improved on today was at the clearing out at the ruck, we need to clear the threat away straight away, to earn quicker ball.
Next week will be a lot tougher against Maldon away in the cup, so let's work hard in training on Wednesday.
