A match on Sunday cut short due to Thurrock being reduced to 12 players by halftime. Nevertheless, the period of rugby that was played was full of confident attacking play from B’tree. Thurrock started the game with 14 players, and as so B’tree also reduced numbers to 14. But from the first minute B’tree looked like scoring from every attack. The B’tree backs were clearly superior to their opposition, the elusive home winger Harry getting the first score, converted by flyhalf Noah. Thurrock, through some strong driving from their forwards showed they were up for the challenge, but it was all in vain. The home forwards secured good ball as B’tree attacked again from within their half, fullback Max making inroads through Thurrock’s defence to score B’tree’s second. The flood gates started to open for B’tree, a welcome try from flanker Teddy who jinked through to score, was followed by winger Charlie, then finally winger Harry touched down once more. During the half Thurrock started to pick up injuries, so at half-time it was decided unfortunately Thurrock couldn’t carry on, so the final whistle blew for a 33 – 7 win to Braintree.
